Meet the founder

I was a blonde kid growing up in rural India. When I moved to Auckland for university, New Zealand felt cold, grey, and nothing like home. The culture shock hit harder than I expected - and 18 months later, I was diagnosed with depression.

The road back was long and non-linear. But somewhere in the middle of it, I found the outdoors. First a walk at the local park. Then the beach. Then a road trip south in a van. And slowly, Aotearoa started to heal me in a way nothing else could.

Getting outside didn't just save my mental health, it completely rewired how I see the world. The mountains, the coastline, the backcountry huts, the crashing waves at a beach campsite. I fell in love with this country by exploring it, corner by corner. Three years after my diagnosis, I "graduated" from therapy...and I was hooked on adventure.

From urban planner to storyteller

After university, I landed what looked like a dream job as an urban planner - working on major infrastructure projects around New Zealand. But I spent my evenings living vicariously through other people - interviewing everyday Kiwis about their adventures and recording it all for a podcast - Aotearoa Adventures.

Eventually, I handed in my resignation on a whim with no backup plan. Feijoa Social was born because I saw the need for social media expertise in the travel and outdoor industry, and I had the expertise to bridge the gap.

Aotearoa Adventures became New Zealand's #1 travel podcast. And Feijoa Social became my actual dream job - one that lets me keep exploring, keep telling stories, and keep helping others do the same.

Living the life we market

My husband Isaac and I built out our dream van (our home on wheels). We let go of our Auckland rental, live full time on the road between international trips and house-sits around New Zealand. We've explored every corner of New Zealand intimately - hiking, road trips, rock climbing and kayaking.

In the summer of 2026, my husband and I completed a two-month self-supported sea kayaking expedition from Cape Reinga to Auckland. Part 2 of the journey is still to come...
